Provision of long-term technical assistance to the Ministry of Agriculture in the re-organisation and re-orientation of the cooperative sector. Provision of advice to the existing 1,245 cooperatives in the accomplishment of transition to a free and market oriented economy based on the experience gained from western style service cooperative organisations. Selection and promotion of alternative pilot forms of cooperative organisations and training of management staff and members in their operation and in their capability to utilise the instruments towards agricultural development. Establishment of a number of pilot demonstrations.
