The CIRCOLIVE Newsletter II, now available online
This edition showcases the main results of Work Package 2, including:
✔️ National and comparative research on circularity in the olive oil value chain
✔️ Identification of emerging skills and professional profiles
✔️ Development of Guidelines to support qualification systems in Portugal, Spain, Italy, Greece and Croatia
It also covers the Interim Consortium Meeting, held in January 2025 in Poreč, Croatia, where partners aligned strategies and launched Work Package 3, focused on creating circular business models and valorising olive oil by-products.
Our project is all about supporting the EU’s transition to a #CircularEconomy by enhancing circular business skills in the olive oil sector. With partners from 
Greece, 
Portugal, 
Italy, 
Spain, and 
Croatia, we’re working together to promote sustainable practices, innovation, and the valorization of waste and by-products across the olive oil value chain. 
Our Goals? Boosting skills, fostering collaboration, and paving the way for a more sustainable and innovative olive oil industry. 
On September 25th, 2024, the CIRCOLIVE Info-Day took place at the Agricultural University of Athens, bringing together 48 participants, including industry experts, students, and key stakeholders in the olive sector.
The event started at 9:30 AM with participant registration, followed by a welcome speech from Professor Spyridon Kintzios, Rector of the Agricultural University of Athens. Dr. Giorgos Vardangalos from Vakakis and Associates S.A. gave an insightful presentation on the CIRCOLIVE project, focusing on the project’s objectives, partners, and key deliverables.
